Southern Black Eyed Peas

Anyone can boil up a can of black-eyed peas.  It takes the two simple steps to make it an awesome Southern side dish!


  • 1 can of your favorite black-eyed peas
  • 1 small onion, diced small
  • 2 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped or diced to your liking


  • Heat a empty sauce pan over medium high heat
  • Add bacon, cook until it starts to sear
  • Add onion, mix well with bacon, until all brown spots from pan are gone
  • Add your beans, heat thoroughly
